What is a Baker's Cyst?

A Baker's Cyst is a painful condition which results in swelling at the back of the knee.

This swelling occurs due to inflammation in the synovial joint which encapsulates the knee.

This leads to an out-pouching of fluid into a little balloon type sac extending from the synovial lining which encases the knee joint.

As the fluid collects it bulges behind the knee resulting in the formation of a Baker’s Cyst.

If left untreated it is possible for a Baker's Cyst to rupture.

A ruptured Baker's Cyst usually causes Pain & Discomfort as fluid travels down the calf muscles and into the ankle.

For essential advice to avoid further injury and great tips on how to naturally reduce swelling & pain due to a Baker’s cyst, be sure to explore our website as well as the rest of this video series.
